LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

Britney Spears’ reported cameo may not have made it into the Pussycat Dolls’ video for “When I Grow Up,” but in an exclusive interview with Access Hollywood, the Dolls say Brit wasn’t to blame.

“It’s not a secret,” the pop quintet’s Melody Thornton told Access’ Nancy O’Dell. “There are a lot of things that you do that don’t necessarily make the video and that didn’t, for whatever reason.”

“She came out, she did a cameo,” added lead singer Nicole Scherzinger, though Melody noted that Britney didn’t work directly with the Pussycat Dolls. According to VH1, in Britney’s deleted scene, she drove a car, waved at the Dolls in traffic and looked “hot and blonde.”

There are definitely no hard feelings from the five Dolls, who hope to work with the singer again.

“We love her, we’re all huge fans of Britney, always have been,” Scherzinger said. “We totally support her. Not everything makes the final cut but we want to do something with her in the future.”

“I was personally bummed because I really like Britney,” added Jessica Sutta, before declaring, “So Britney, if you’re watching, we want you!”

Nancy caught up with the Dolls while they were teaming up with Bally Total Fitness to shoot both a new commercial as well as a PSA for the MDA’s ALS division. For more information on the cause, click here.

Non-Bally members will be able to use their gyms for just $1 for the day of August 28 (the same day the Dolls’ new lounge opens in Hollywood), and the money will go to a search for a cure for ALS. They are hoping to raise over $250,000.

The commercial features their current single, “When I Grow Up.” The Pussycat Dolls’ new album is due in September.
