LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

While he may have celebrity status for some, Barack Obama disappointed his daughters when he appeared via satellite on the stage at the Democratic National Convention Monday night, according to mtvnews.com.

His daughter, Maila, 10, and Sasha, 7, had hoped, instead, for an appearance by The Jonas Brothers.

After Michelle Obama’s speech at the convention, she told the girls that she had a surprise for them on stage. The girls did not know that the surprise would be their father.

“Is it the Jonas Brothers?” Malia, the older of the two, asked.

The girls have been longtime fans of the Jonas Brothers, and were upset to learn that they would have to be in Denver, and would not be in their hometown of Chicago for their appearance.

During Barack Obama’s recent birthday, he celebrated by drinking beer while his daughters danced around to the Jonas Brothers’ music on their iPods.

When visiting “Kidd Kraddick in the Morning” last February he mentioned, regarding the Jonas Brothers, “Who are these guys? And how many pictures of them do you need on your wall?”
