LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

“American Idol” alum Paris Bennett welcomed a baby girl Monday afternoon, a rep for the singer confirmed to People.

Egypt Bennett came into the world at 3:36 PM Monday afternoon and weighed in at 5 lbs., 15 oz., according to the statement released to the mag.

Little Egypt appears to already be following in her singing mother’s footsteps.

“I’m so excited to finally see my little angel – and man, does she have lungs on her,” Paris said in the statement. “I guess she’s gearing up to be the next ‘American Idol.’”

Along with the happy mother, Paris’ own mom was elated with the new addition to the family.

“Paris’s mother Jamecia Bennett and her family is filled with excitement and welcomes their bundle of joy,” the statement went on to say.

Paris is set to release a new album, “A Royal Christmas,” on Oct. 14.
