But now, the Caped Crusader could have a new enemy – the city of Batman.
The mayor of the real city of Batman – an oil-producing city in southeast Turkey – is reportedly suing “Dark Knight” director Christopher Nolan and Warner Bros., seeking royalties from this summer’s box office blockbuster, according to Variety.

Christian Bale, star of the record-breaking “The Dark Knight,” has been arrested by police in London who are investigating claims he assaulted his sister and mother, according to London’s Press Association.
“A 34-year-old man attended a central London police station this morning by appointment. He was arrested in connection with an allegation of assault,” a spokesperson for the London police station told Access Hollywood. “He currently remains in custody.”
Bale was released after spending four hours at a London police station, according to the Associated Press.
