Coroner: Dr. Dre’s Son Died From Heroin, Morphine Overdose

LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

The son of rap mogul Dr. Dre died from an accidental drug overdose, Access Hollywood has confirmed.

Andre Young Jr., 20, died from “an accident due to morphine and heroin intoxication,” Los Angeles County Coroner spokesperson Larry Dietz told Access.

Lil Wayne Sued Over Copyright Infringement

Lawyers for rapper Lil Wayne are seeking more time to turn over documents in response to a lawsuit that accuses the award-winning recording artist of copyright infringement.

A federal lawsuit filed in May claims Lil Wayne didn’t have permission to sample a song by singer Karma-Ann Swanepoel.

50 Cent On Fire That Destroyed His Long Island Home

Rapper 50 Cent is finally opening up about the fire that destroyed his multimillion-dollar Long Island home in May.

In a new interview with TV One Access correspondent Quddus, 50 Cent said his ex-girlfriend, Shaniqua Tompkins, was ordered to leave his Long Island home just days before the blaze broke out.

“The courts told her she had to leave.” 50 said of Tompkins. “It’s kind of more like, ‘If I can’t have it, you can’t have it.’”

Kanye West says he’s not concerned about whether his new album is a blockbuster, because he’s made “great art” — and he feels really good about it.

Report: Kanye West Arrested In U.K.

GATESHEAD, U.K. --

Kanye West was arrested in the U.K. early Friday, according to reports by British media.

West was arrested at a hotel in Gateshead, England on Friday morning, after an alleged incident with a photographer outside a U.K. nightclub a few hours earlier.

Although the rapper was arrested, after a brief investigation, police said they would not charge West, according to the Press Association.

Lil Wayne was named lyricist of the year and Russell Simmons was honored as a hip-hop icon at this year’s BET Hip-Hop Awards taped on Saturday in Atlanta.

The New Orleans rapper, who was nominated for 12 awards, was also named MVP of the Year and the Alltel Wireless People’s Champ at the ceremony, which was hosted by T-Pain instead of scheduled host, comedian Katt Williams.

Busta Rhymes Refused Entry Into Britain

Rapper Busta Rhymes was refused entry into Britain on Thursday, according to the promoter of a Busta Rhymes charity concert.

Rhymes was detained at London City Airport by immigration officers, who said their refusal was based on “unresolved convictions” in the United States, said Stephen Greene of OrangeRockCorps.

Authorities say a fire destroyed a pool house at rapper Ludacris’ home outside Atlanta.

Ludacris, whose real name is Christopher Bridges, was out of town at the time of the Wednesday night fire.

Fulton County Fire Department spokesman Gregory Chambers says a relative was in the basement of the main residence when the fire started and was not injured.

Authorities say DMX has been arrested on drug and animal-cruelty charges in Phoenix following an overnight raid on the rapper’s house.

The Maricopa County sheriff’s office says the 37-year-old, whose real name is Earl Simmons, at first tried to barricade himself in his bedroom. He came out as a SWAT team entered during the early-morning raid Friday.

LA Times Retracts Story Suggesting Diddy Knew Of Tupac's Death

The Los Angeles Times on Monday retracted stories that implied purported associates of Sean "Diddy" Combs assaulted Tupac Shakur in 1994 and that Combs knew about it ahead of time.

The newspaper said the March 17 online story and a shorter version in the newspaper on March 19 relied heavily on what turned out to be phony FBI documents. The stories were written byPulitzer-prize winning staff writer Chuck Philips.
