Obama To Go Prime Time Before Election

Barack Obama has purchased a half-hour of prime time television just before the presidential election, Access Hollywood has confirmed.

According to documents viewed by Access, the Democratic presidential candidate spent $891,250 at NBC and $961,000 at CBS for a half-hour of airtime starting at 8 PM on October 29.

‘Rock Of Love’ Driver Causes Fatal Crash

A truck driver hauling sound equipment for Bret Michael’s reality show, “Rock of Love,” was involved in accident, which left two people dead and two others seriously injured in Illinois, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

According to the Post-Dispatch, police said Dennis D. Hernandez of Lamont, Calif., fell asleep behind the wheel of the truck, which then allegedly crossed over the interstate in Southern Illinois, striking a college student’s SUV and killing the student and her passenger.

Court documents show a company founded by Merv Griffin is suing Ed McMahon for a $100,000 loan it claims has gone unpaid.

Emmy Ratings: TV’s Big Night Brings Small Numbers

The Emmy Awards had one of its smallest audiences ever on Sunday.

It seemed somehow appropriate for an awards show that showered honors upon “Mad Men” and “30 Rock,” series with critical acclaim and lousy ratings.

Nielsen Media Research’s preliminary estimate was that 12.24 million people watched Sunday’s show. If that number holds up when more complete national ratings come in, it will be less than the 2007 and 1990 shows, which were both slightly under 13 million.

Confirmed: Oprah Winfrey Headed To ‘30 Rock’

So long Windy City – Oprah is headed to the Big Apple.

After much speculation, NBC has confirmed that Oprah Winfrey will guest star on an episode of “30 Rock” this season.

Oprah, who will appear in the second episode of the season on Nov. 6, shot her scenes on Saturday, the network revealed today.

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. --

Two of my favorite artists from the RCA Records group are back this fall with Greatest Hits collections, and along with their respective retrospectives, both of them are releasing new songs along with their compilations.

First up, is Sarah McLachlan, whose 16-track anthology, “Closer: The Best of Sarah McLachlan,” will be released on October 7.

Next up, comes Christina Aguilera’s “Keeps Gettin’ Better: A Decade of Hits,” which will be available for purchase on November 11, exclusively through Target.

Often, I’m cynical about Greatest Hits collections – especially for younger artists – I always feel like, “Come back when you have Tina Turner’s career – THEN, you can put out a Greatest Hits collection.”

These two, however, are going to be welcome additions to my library.

Are The Stars Of ‘90210’ Too Skinny?

Are the stars of the new “90210” too thin for TV? That’s the question being asked by some, according to a new cover story in Us Weekly.

Jessica Stroup, the 21-year-old who plays Erin Silver on the show, reportedly weighs 100 pounds, the magazine claims, while her co-star, 18-year-old Shenae Grimes, may weigh just 90 pounds.

And the girls’ small frames are reportedly a concern of their male co-stars.
