Perfume Maker Raises Stink Over Prince’s Fragrance

A perfume company is claiming that Prince and his music publisher failed to honor a contract to help market a fragrance named for the album “3121.”

The breach-of-contract lawsuit was filed by Revelations Perfume and Cosmetics Inc. in New York. The company says it licensed Prince’s name, likeness and the album title “3121” to market its fragrance.

Kanye West was arrested in the U.K. early Friday, according to reports by British media.

West was arrested at a hotel in Gateshead, England on Friday morning, after an alleged incident with a photographer outside a U.K. nightclub a few hours earlier.

Although the rapper was arrested, after a brief investigation, police said they would not charge West, according to the Press Association.

William Balfour To Remain In Custody Following Parole Hearing

William Balfour will remain in custody in connection to the Hudson family murders, according to the Chicago Tribune.

The Illinois Prisoner Review Board ruled on Monday that there was reason to believe Balfour had, in fact, violated his parole and as a result, would be kept in custody.

Had the review board not found evidence the 27-year-old had violated his parole, he was scheduled to be released on Monday.

Report: William Balfour Told Girlfriend He Was Involved In Hudson Murders

William Balfour, the only individual to be identified as a “person of interest” in the shootings of Jennifer Hudson’s mother and brother, allegedly told his girlfriend he was involved in the murders, sources told the Chicago Tribune.

However, Balfour’s girlfriend reportedly told police that he was not involved in the death of Hudson’s 7-year-old nephew, Julian King. Julian, the son of Jennifer’s sister (and Balfour’s estranged wife) Julia, went missing around the time of the shootings. His body was later discovered in an SUV on the South Side of Chicago.

The executive who succeeded Jay-Z as the head of hip-hop music label Def Jam Recordings died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound near Atlanta, police said Sunday.

Executive vice president Shakir Stewart, 34, died on Saturday, his New York-based label said in a statement.

Stewart was found Saturday afternoon in the bathroom of his home in the Atlanta suburb of Marietta, Cobb County police spokeswoman Cassie Reece said Sunday. He was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

‘Person Of Interest’ In Hudson Case Avoided Jail Time After June Drug Arrest

The convicted felon suspected in the Chicago slayings of Oscar-winner Jennifer Hudson’s mother, brother and nephew was arrested on a drug charge in June, but authorities declined to return him to prison on a parole violation, internal parole records show.
