Police say rap music mogul Marion “Suge” Knight is in a Las Vegas jail on drug and assault charges after he was accused of beating his girlfriend while brandishing a knife.
The 43-year-old Knight was arrested about 6:40 a.m. Wednesday on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a controlled substance, possession of dangerous drugs without a prescription and battery domestic violence.

officials with the sheriff’s department said Tuesday.
The deep-voiced soul singer died Sunday after he was found unconscious at his Memphis residence. No autopsy was performed, but paperwork filed by Hayes’ family physician, Dr. David Kraus, lists

A spokeswoman for Bernie Mac says the actor is responding well to treatment for pneumonia and hopes to be released in the next few weeks. Publicist Danica Smith said Thursday in a statement that Mac’s condition is “stable.” Smith first announced on August 1st that Mac was hospitalized in Chicago.
Smith has said the pneumonia isn’t related to an inflammatory lung disease Mac also has. That condition has been in remission since 2005.

Oscar winner Morgan Freeman is in serious condition in a Memphis hospital, following what is being called a serious car accident.
Freeman, who currently stars in “The Dark Knight,” and a female passenger, Demaris Meyer, were driving on Mississippi Highway 32 in a rural area of Tallahatchie County approximately four miles west of Charleston at 11:30 PM when Freeman’s car went off the right side of the road and proceeded to flip over. The doors were jammed on the vehicle and both of them had to be removed from the car with the jaws of life, a spokesperson for the Mississippi Highway Patrol confirmed to Access.
